Housing Sales in Portugal on the Rise in 2025

In 2024, Portugal’s real estate sector once again reached record-high figures, with housing sales increasing by approximately 13%.

Although this growth is significant, real estate agencies acknowledge that 2024 was a much better year for the market than 2023. However, while expectations for 2025 remain optimistic, they are more moderate.

While foreign buyers continue to drive sector growth, housing prices will only stabilize when supply and demand reach a balance.

The number of foreign property buyers in Portugal has increased, even surpassing domestic buyers in terms of real estate transactions. This trend is also evident in non-residential property investments.

It is estimated that 50,000 properties were sold in 2024, generating around €30 billion in revenue, representing a 20% increase in investment volume compared to 2023.
